In their presentations “The Constitutional Overhaul in Israel” and “Legal Tradition and Contemporary Rule of Law: A Chinese Perspective”, Dr. Ittai Bar-Siman-Tov (Bar Ilan University, Tel Aviv) and Dr. Walter Lee (Hong Kong Metropolitan University, Hong Kong) sparked a transnational conversation about law, authority, and judicial power. By bringing together perspectives on Israeli judicial reforms and Chinese legal concepts li and fa, the speakers reflected on how foundational legal principles gain authority and operate in diverse legal orders.
