Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Emma Lantschner oversees work in the area of non-discrimination law with references to European and international law.

Prof. Dr. Jürgen Pirker supervises - if certain requirements are met, which can be requested at juergen.pirker[a]uni-graz.at - work in the field of minority rights, especially in connection with the European Charter for the Protection of Regional or Minority Languages, from a national perspective and comparative perspective.

Prof.  Dr. Florian Bieber supervises work in the field of power-sharing, nationalism and minorities, especially with regard to Southeast Europe.

 

Requirements

The successful completion of at least one course related to the content is required 

The topic of the thesis is to be proposed by the student him/herself after consultation with the supervisor. Working title will be determined in the course of a personal interview. It is up to the student to ensure that the topic is not already taken.

This is followed by the creation of a disposition (5-10 pages) with the following content:

- Context, description of the problem

- research question

- Methodological access to answer the research question

- Preliminary table of contents / structure with planned weighting of the individual chapters

- Provisional bibliography

- Schedule for the completion of the work

Depending on the curriculum, theses are supervised in German and English.
