On July 11, the students of the University of Graz and of the Yerevan State University(YSU) received their certificates for the successful completion of the intensive summer seminar "EU Law and Politics and the South Caucasus" (EULPISC), which took place in Yerevan, Armenia, from July 8 to 11.
Building on a number of successful international summer schools in the region on Europeanization issues, this summer seminar aimed to unpack the various multifaceted dimensions and challenges of Europeanization in a broader context. Besides courses on European Law, International Law and Politics, and Diversity Management, REWI Uni Graz students had the chance to get to know their peers at YSU, to encounter the unique culture of Armenia - inter alia the water-related Vardavar-festivities - and to learn more about the country's history and people.
In addition to the official study program, the participants visited the Office of the Council of Europe in Armenia and the Delegation of the European Union to Armenia. This gave them the unique chance to experience first hand the way in which these organizations work.
Jürgen Pirker, Benedikt Harzl, David Gruber and Ksenia Radchenkova at the Department of Global Governance are looking forward to continuing the tradition of holding summer seminars in the South Caucasus in 2025.
