Lecture Series: Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Peace and Conflict

[Translate to English:]

[Translate to English:]

Starting on October 13, this lecture will take place every Wednesday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in HS 15.06 (RESOWI, F EG) and will provide insights into the most diverse scientific approaches to the topic of peace and conflict. This law faculty initiative brings together about 30 researchers from four faculties in Graz and several institutions affiliated with the university. The topics range from domestic violence to questions of democracy in Europe to international armed conflicts.

Although research on peace and conflict has become increasingly specialized and established independent scientific fields in the course of the 20th century, academic engagement with this topic continues to be scattered across many different academic disciplines, which often use completely different terminology. Accordingly, research on peace and conflict at the University of Graz is spread across numerous faculties: from the natural sciences to theology to humanities, law and social sciences. The lecture series now attempts to make this expertise accessible to students within one lecture.

In the winter semester, the lecture series will take place in HS 15.06 (RESOWI, F EG), in the summer semester in HS 15.05 (RESOWI, E EG) - in each case from 3 to 4:30 pm.

The lecture series can also be streamed live via UniMeet: https://unimeet.uni-graz.at/b/rad-4us-88g-am5. Furthermore, the lectures can be viewed afterwards on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3Sd6hXLusoKy1YjveXVtfQ/videos.

More information about the lecture series can be found at https://frieden.uni-graz.at/de/.
