On June 18th, Ksenia Radchenkova held a presentation, “Kant and Confucius: moral ethics behind Western and Eastern Approaches to International Relations,” at the international conference “Interpretation and Reinvention of Chinese Philosophy” organized by the European Association of Chinese Philosophy at Macerata, Italy.
In her speech, Ksenia Radchenkova argued that a comparison of Kantian and Confucian ethics along the axes of autonomy, will, and freedom is not only possible but very much needed. It shows the substantial amount of coherences between the teachings, which draws attention to the common ethical grounds of the Eastern and Western political philosophies. As a result of the comparison, Ksenia pointed out that the stress on redefined human dignity shall become a unifying factor in modern international politics.
