Marko, Zornic, and Kovacevic in front of the ECtHR ©Joseph Marko

On November 20, Prof. Joseph Marko represented Slaven Kovačević in ECtHR Grand Chamber hearing on voting rights in legislative and presidential elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The European Court of Human Rights held a Grand Chamber hearing on Wednesday 20 November 2024 at 9:15 a.m. in the case of Kovačević v. Bosnia and Herzegovina (application no. 43651/22). The case concerned the applicant’s voting rights in legislative and presidential elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Due to a combination of the territorial and ethnic requirements applicable to elections for the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly and for the Presidency, he was unable to vote for the candidates of his choice in those elections in 2022.

In this hearing, Slaven Kovačević was represented by the Professor of the Univerity of Graz, Dr. Joseph Marko.
