The inaugural intensive summer seminar “EULPISC – EU Law and Politics and the South Caucasus”, jointly organized by the Yerevan State University (YSU) and the University of Graz (Austria) will take place at the YSU campus on 8 – 11 July 2024. Drawing on a number of already successfully held international summer schools in the region revolving around matters pertaining to Europeanization, this summer seminar aims to unpack the various multifaceted dimensions and challenges of Europeanization in a broader context. It will also explore its impact on the state of affairs of different spheres such as political institutions, security strategies, diversity management and conflict resolution, geopolitical choices as well as social and cultural practices. By aiming to develop a transferable model of post-Soviet transition, the seminar will look particularly at the case of Armenia. Participants will be awarded with summer seminar certificates upon completion issued by YSU and the University of Graz.
Advanced Bachelor's degree students and early-stage Master's degree students are encouraged to participate! The seminar is credited for students of the University of Graz with 5 ECTS. To apply, please submit your CV and a brief letter expressing your motivation to attend and send it to Assoc. Professor Benedikt Harzl (Centre of East European Law and Eurasian Studies) benedikt.harzl(at)uni-graz.at
Selected participants will enjoy free admission to the summer seminar; however, they will be responsible for covering their own travel, accommodation and other expenses. While some logistical assistance may be available, participants should plan for these costs accordingly.
