Dr. Aistė Mickonytė at international conference “The 30th Anniversary of the 1992 Lithuanian Constitution and Constitutional Challenges in the 21st Century”

On October 24th, Dr. Aistė Mickonytė held a presentation on “Supranational Oversight of National Judiciaries in the EU” at the international conference “The 30th Anniversary of the 1992 Lithuanian Constitution and Constitutional Challenges in the 21st Century” at Vilnius University, Lithuania.

In her presentation, Aistė Mickonytė argued that under EU law, the requirement of, and a right to, a court established by law is applied differently depending on the procedure in question; she argued that the concept of a lawful court under EU law has to take into account the EU’s multilevel legal order and especially the role played by mutual trust.
